Lost Boys Interactive is a AAA Co-Development Studio based in Madison, Wisconsin, with full remote work available from any state in the US. We specialize in top-tier game development for our partners as well as work on our own AAA projects. We are growing our DevOps team to level up our AAA clients’ capabilities. At Lost Boys Interactive, we integrate cutting-edge DevOps practices and tools with robust development skills to modernize infrastructure and operations for our clients. We are looking for a GoLang Developer with DevOps experience to extend our capabilities even further to provide additional value. 

This is not just a support or operations role—you will leverage your developer expertise in GoLang to build tools, improve pipelines, secure and enable automation within VMware and Azure cloud environments with HashiCorp Vault. Your contributions will directly influence the creation of next-generation game properties and tools, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure environments for end-users. 

You will be involved in designing and developing robust systems, creating automation workflows, and solving problems through code. Additionally, this role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, as you’ll work closely with our partners to implement and refine technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, extend and maintain services and tools using primarily GoLang but also Python, Ruby, or Bash (Includes frontend and backend development of tools leveraging Hashicorp Vault and its API, along with supporting the DevOps pipelines and architecture of the HashiCorp Vault and Splunk Infrastructure) 
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure in VMware and Azure cloud environments 

  • Architect scalable and secure infrastructure to support AAA game development. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game developers, to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of cloud automation (Terraform, Packer, Vagrant) 

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing workflows and systems to ensure maximum performance and reliability 

  • Create and maintain technical design documentation and provide mentorship on best practices for DevOps development 

  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, supporting critical systems and responding to infrastructure or application incidents as they arise 

Required Developer Skills 

  • 5 to 10 years of front-end and back-end development experience. GoLang (required), Python, Ruby 

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations 

  • Proven experience developing and deploying infrastructure automation workflows in enterprise environments 

  • Hands-on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or TeamCity 

  • Experience developing scripts and applications to monitor and automate systems and infrastructure (GoLang, Python, Ruby, Bash) 

  • Experience working with and communicating on a remote Agile/Scrum team. 

  • Ability to confer with peers and seniors to share and learn knowledge pertaining to architecture, technical implementation, and best practices 

  • Ability to innovate, verbally articulate complex technical theories and provide proof of concepts 

  • Ability to communicate well and work across departments in a professional manner 

  • High interest in and motivation to learn new technologies 

Required Technical Skills 
Candidates should have experience with a combination of the following technologies: 

Core Expertise 

  • Development/Scripting Languages: GoLang (Required), Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash 

  • Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL) system administration 

  • Virtualization: On-premises platforms like VMware 

  • Cloud Platforms: Azure (preferred) and AWS 

  • Automation tools: Terraform, Packer, Vagrant 

  • Configuration Management: Chef (preferred), Ansible, Vagrant, Salt 

  • CI/CD Pipelines: TeamCity and Jenkins (preferred) 

Infrastructure & Networking 

  • Networking: DNS, VPN, ACL, DHCP, and Linux networking (routing, NAT, VLAN, bridging) Experience with Cisco or Juniper hardware is a plus 

  • Authentication & Identity: Active Directory, LDAP 

  • Linux Services: BIND, Sendmail, Postfix, Samba, Rsync, NTP, NFS 

  • Logging Tools: Splunk, Vector, syslog-ng, rsyslog 

Databases 

  • SQL (MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB, CouchDB, MemcacheDB) 

Web & Content Delivery 

  • Web Servers: Apache, Nginx, Lighttpd 

  • CDNs: Akamai 

Version Control 

  • Git and Perforce (preferred)
